Best Lash Secret Ever
Have you seen some women with beautifully long lashes that have you asking the question, "Are they real?" Chances are if they don't have false lashes or extentions they are probably using some type of Lash Enhancing Growth Serum.
Lash Enhancing Growth Serums are the lash secret that everyone is talking about. Prescription Lash Enhancing Gel Latisse has been around for a while now, but over the last couple of years over the counter versions from a number of brands have started to appear on the market.
So do they really work? The short answer is YES! They Really Work!
Lash Growth Serums are quickly becoming a must-have beauty item because they achieve such amazing results.
So what is it you ask? Lash Growth Gels or Serums are essentially a gel you apply to your eyelashes at night before you go to bed. They take about 3-4 weeks with everyday use to start seeing the results. The gel works over time to make your lashes grow longer, thicker and darker.
Lash Serums work by using a combination of ingredients that range from growth enhancing peptides, biotin, amino acids and botanical extracts and conditioners that help to promote hair growth, strengthen lashes, reducing breakage and prevent lashes from falling out. Normally, your eyelashes will fall out about every 30 days but, with regular use of a lash serum your eyelashes will stay in much longer, and therefor continue to grow. These serums are formulated to deliver deep hydration to lashes which helps them to grow longer and stronger.
The really good serums will cost you a pretty penny, but it can be worth it if you want to have amazing lashes, and many of these products will often last for at least 3-4 months of use.
Here is Our List of The Best Lash Enhancers on the Market:
LASHFOOD

This product is a great example of one of the more natural, botanical based products that actually do what they claim to do. This serum is made with a combination of soy protein, amino acid and floral extracts that strengthen and condition lashes.
Some people might be inclined to believe that just because a product doesn't contain medical-grade chemical compounds found in prescription lash boosters, or similar over the counter lash enhancers, that the product won't work. That is not necessarily true. From all the reviews, and before and after photos from users of this product, LashFood appears to be very effective at growing and improving the thickness of lashes. It gets rave reviews from users on Sephora's website and is a top seller at Ulta.
At $78 it is in the mid-price range in terms of eye lash serums. If you are someone with sensitive eyes and/ or skin and are concerned about chemicals in your beauty products, this serum might be a great product for you to try.

Rodan and Fields
Lash Boost
$150 from RodanandFields.com
Rodan + Fields is the company famous for creating Proactiv, a brand of acne fighting products that has been wildly successful. The company also has a number of skincare product lines designed for anti-aging benefits, and has recently started selling an eye lash enhancing serum called Lash Boost.
Lash Boost contains their own proprietary blend of keratin, biotin and peptides to encourage eyelash growth and thickness. It is a very effective serum, receiving rave reviews from users about their amazing results.
Lash Boost is one of the priciest options on the market, costing around $150, although you can get up to 10% off for being a *Preferred Customer with Rodan and Fields. As well as being fairly pricey, another downside to this product is that you really can't buy it as a single product. Rodan + Fields is a multi-level marketing system, which basically means that and part of their business plan is to encourage you to keep buying their products, and if you don't become a beauty consultant yourself you also need to pay a membership sign up fee of about $20. So while this is not a prescription serum like Latisse, it can be equally challenging to purchase if you are not already of the R+D Preferred Customer program.
I have used this product myself for a few months now and I have to say, I have been very impressed with the results. However, because of the high price tag and the use of ingredients like, Isopropyl Cloprostenate (which can possibly cause harmful health side effects such as eye discoloration) I may try out some of the other more botanical ingredient based options on the market to see how they compare. That being said, I have not personally experience any negative side effects and I have been amazed at how my lashes have grown using this product.
The photo on the left is the before and after photos of my experience using Lash Boost. I am still using the same tube 4 months later, so at the $150 price tag I am getting a lot of use out of it.
The top photo is my lashes before use and the bottom photo is my lashes after about 3 weeks of everyday use. You can see from the photos that it made a significant difference to the length and fullness of my lashes. I am wearing mascara in both photos, but I have blonde lashes so it's hard to see the results without mascara on since my natural lash color is so light. That being said, I also noticed my lashes are a bit darker now since I have been using this product.
My lashes are almost touching my eybrows now! I have been very pleased with how well this serum works.
Revitalash Advanced
$150 at Nordstrom
Revitalash Advanced is at the high end price range of lash gels, at $150 it is at the top of the price list.
That being said, it does do everything it promises to do and lasts for a few months of use. This gel grows lashes and nourishes them with ingredients like green tea and ginseng. It can also be used on your eyebrows to help encourage them to grow thicker.
It also contains biotin which helps protect your lashes from environmental irritants and prevents them from breaking.
This product is consistently ranked as one of the best and most effective eyelash growth serums available over the counter.
Rapid Lash
Available at Ulta or Costco
Normally priced at $50 for one tube, you can purchase Rapid Lash at Costco for about $60 for a two pack - so that's a great bargain.
RapidLash helps to improve the appearance of brittle, short, sparse, thin lashes into healthier, fuller-looking lashes. You can see results in about 30 days.
RapidLash uses mainly natural, very gentle ingredients. The ingredients in this products are made up of Biotin, Amino Acids, Soybean Oil and Pumpkin Seed Extract.
