The best thing about this list is that all of these things are inexpensive and easy to do.
1. Wear Gloves to Wash Dishes
One of the first signs of aging appears on your hands. We tend to focus on our face when thinking about preventing sign of aging, and often neglect our hands. As we age the skin on our hands gets thinner and more dry. Submerging your hands in hot water can really speed up the aging process as hot water makes hands red and dry, and breaks down the skin's natural protective layers of natural oils. When you put your hands in hot water on a reular basis, it can leave your hands feeling dry and cracked. One of the simplest ways to prevent pre-mature signs of aging on your hands is to use household gloves when washing the dishes or when you are cleaning. This one simple step can help preserve the beauty of your hands for years to come.
2. Sunscreen is Your Greatest Line of Defense
Dermotogolgists know that sunscreen is pretty much the gold standard line of defense when it come to preventing aging and skin damage. Wearing sunscreen when you are out in the sun is common practice these days since most people now know that the sun damages your skin. What is not commonly known though it is important to wear sunscreen everyday - even on a cloudy day. Also, as we age our skin becomes more and more subsebtable to sun damage making it even more important as you get older. Sun damage speeds up the aging process by damaging skin cells, breaking down your skins soft texture and creating dark spots on the skin.
The most important area to wear sunscreen is your face, hands, neck and chest area. Most of the time people remember to put sunscreen or tinted moisturizer with sunscreen on their face but then forget about their neck, chest and hands. The skin on the chest area is thinner and even more substebable to sun damage than your face which makes it the most important place of all to apply everyday. To really keep aging and sun damage at bay, try using sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 30 but SPF 50 and up are even better.
Another little known fact about sunscreen is that it protects you from other environmental damage like pollution can age your skin. Keeping a protevtive barrier on your skin duing the day will help your skin maintain a youthful glow. Let's also not overlook the damage pollution and sun exposure can have on your hair - which can become dry, birttle and thin with age and constant damage. Putting UV heat protectants in your hair can keep your hair looking healthier and younger longer.
3. Do regular Facial Exercises

5. Hydrate
No matter what your age is, keeping yourself properly hydrated is important for your skin to look it's best. Hyrdation becomes particularly important as we age. The average person does not drink enough water on adaily basis. Not drinking enough water on a daily basis can leave your body feeling tired and can lead to chronic conditions such as obesity, high blod pressure and digestive issues. It may seem like such a simple step couldn't make that much of a difference but you'd be surprised by how much a few extra glasses of water a day can do for your health and beauty.
6. Beauty Sleep
There are several ways in which you can prevent aging and also reverse some signs of aging by following some simple sleeping tips. One of the first rules for beauty sleep is, to sleep on your back. Now this may sound strange, but if you're about that age where you are starting to see some wrinkles appear around your face, neck and even on our chest, this one little change may keep some of those pesky wrinkles at bay a little longer. Sleeping on your back helps prevent some of the wrinkles that are created from hours of sleeping on your side with your face smooshed into a pillow, and your breasts smooshed together forming wrinkles on your neck and chest.
For many women with larger breasts, having some v-shaped chest wrinkles becomes a real problem in their early fourties. The reason is because sleeping on your sie causes your breasts to fall together, creating a crease of skin in the middle of your chest. And the longer the crease is there, like overnight, the more likely that crease will become a prominant wrinkle.
Another easy tip for getting the most beauty out of your beauty rest, is to sleep on a satin pillow case. It may seem to simple to be effective but, cotton pillow cases have the effect of sucking moisture from your skin while you sleep making all those expensive night creams you put on less effective.
Getting more hours of quality sleep on a regular basis may reduce the signs of againg and make you feel more youthful and energetic. This one may sound difficult, espeically for all those moms out there with small children that wake you up all through the night, but if there a few ways you can give yourself an exta hour of two of sleep, it may make a huge difference in how you look and feel.
We hope this list will help inspire you to try some simple steps to look and feel your best!
