I have been a customer of George of New York for over 20 years. Terri has been cutting and coloring my hair the entire time. She is an outstanding stylist - she understands how my hair grows and cuts it accordingly. I look to her for advice on styles and colors and she never disappoints! I've had several people over the years stop me and ask who does my hair - I take that as a huge compliment to Terri for the great job she does every time. The salon is clean, the staff is customer service friendly and I wouldn't think of ever taking my business anywhere else.

I was new to the area and heard of George of New York Hair Design from people around town. I have always been very wary of new people doing my hair, but I was absolutely pleased with the service I recieved. I was recommended to and saw the owner, Terri, and she gave me everything I was looking for and more. She made me look fifteen years younger! I recieved a color, full highlight, and haircut and it was all for a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend Terri to the next person as I feel I was given all her focus and she really strived to give me what I wanted. George of New York Hair Design excels in every aspect of this industry!

I have been going to George of New York for the past couple of months after being referred by a friend who has been going for years. I have never been more happy with the quality of the service I have been recieving. The coloring has been perfect and the cuts are exactly what I want. I also never have an issue getting appointments or being fit in. You are definitely getting above and beyond treatment at this salon and I would recommend it to anyone who wants flawless hair.

I have been going to this salon for about 6 months now and I just love it! From the time when I walk in the salon to the time I leave I am pampered, I mean the receptionist is always polite(rarely does that happen at other salons). The stylists are great you can tell that they enjoy working together. My stylist Vashti was awesome she really helped my hair to grow. My shampoo was great those assistants really work, I mean they offered me many beverages even WINE :) Compared to the other salons I went to George of NY is the best one!!!

In the owners defense, I witnessed the client insisting on not having a haircut even after the owner pointed out to her how uneven the cut was. She insisted on just having it texturized. Also I witnessed the owner putting down the texturizers, walking away to mix the color, and the client would grab bits and pieces of the hair exclaiming that she needed more bulk taken out. The color that was applied to the clients hair was the same color that has been used in the past with no problem. It was left on the scalp for fifteen minutes, diluted, and put on the ends for five minutes to simply freshen up the color. What the client failed to mention was all the health issues she was experiencing, one major issue being a thyroid condition. The owner didnt get to where she is butchering people's hair, and instead of researching the effect that this condition (and the others) can have on your hair, blame was easily placed on owner and her skills unfairly.

I've been familiar with George of New York for over 8 years and highly recommend it. The salon itself is in a good location, easy to find. It's cozy and relaxed, and the prices are pretty typical for the Columbia/Ellicott City area. For the past year Jill has been doing my hair and it has never looked better or healthier. I've trusted her with the task of bringing my once long, damaged, and dead hair back to life and she has exceeded my expectations; I really couldn't be happier.
