I wanted a slight trim before a TV appearance. I told him not to shorten my hair much, mostly to just clean it up around the ears. I told him I wanted it full on the sides and showed him exactly how long I wanted it. He said he understood perfectly, then to his shave and cropped my hair close, leaving almost nothing on the sides, just like every other customer in the shop. No scissors, no tapering, no listening to the customer's requests, just shave it off. The McDonalds of barber shops. You can look like a new army recruit or like a retired army officer. No other choices.
