I've been going to Colleen at Elan for about a year now. She's my hair whisperer- She can figure out how to make it do something that makes sense when my hair is confusing me. She's also a GREAT colorist! She gave me some very flattering, natural low lights.

Recommend you avoid Alison. She butchered three inches more than what I asked for off my hair today, leaving me with a style that is unflattering and too short to do anything with in addition to being NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR. It'll be months before my hair looks the way I wanted it to--even thought I brought a picture and discussed the length with her. Don't risk the trauma, go to someone else.

Go to this Salon! I just moved to Bloomington & have found my new stylist. Ask for Jeff, he will not disappoint. For the last 6 years, I have not repeated my business with any salon or stylist in search for the right place. They even cut kids hair. The staff is knowledgeable & friendly. I could not recommend them enough.

After a bad (and expensive) experience with the Aveda on College Ave (I asked to keep my shoulder length hair and she gave me a bob to my chin), I didn't visit a hairstylist for almost a year. I looked up reviews online before I finally settled on Elan, and I'm glad I did. I've been back about three times now, and I always have Tiffany. She does a great job on my hair, is nice and friendly, and always takes the time to style it before I leave. The atmosphere seems nice, and everyone seems pleasant to work with. I think their prices are VERY reasonable too, and they're not jacked up like most places in Bloomington.
I would highly recommend this place, and especially Tiffany, to anyone!

I have been to Elan several times to have my hair cut and styled. I have seen almost all of the stylists there and they have all done a wonderful job. In reference to the not so good review on here, there is no stylist named "Elan" nor is the owner a male. I would recommend Elan to anyone. Its very easy to get to and they have always accommodated me at the last minute.

I had an awful experience here. The salon owner, Elan, cut my hair and I feel like I could've done a better job myself. I asked for side-swept bangs and he completely chopped them off, all one length. For the price, I thought this salon was highly over-rated and did a horrible hair cut.

I've been using this mid range salon for over a year now. Great professional, friendly service and they can usually accomodate a walk-in if you need one. Centrally located and plenty of parking in the square
