I had scheduled an appointment at A Unique Touch for Tuesday September 6th. I became very ill on the previous Sunday and called to cancel on Monday the 5th. Since it was Labor Day, the phone went to voicemail and I didn’t leave a message knowing they were probably closed and wouldn’t get the message until Tuesday morning at the earliest. I called back at exactly 10am when they opened on Tuesday and cancelled. The following day I had a $30 charge to my bank account. I called to inquire about the charge and I was told that since I didn’t cancel within 24 hours (which they were closed on Labor Day so I didn’t’ leave a message) I was being charged a late cancellation fee. Even if I had left a message on Labor Day she wouldn’t have gotten the message until Tuesday morning until the office opened. She could hear over the phone that I was sick as my voice was very strained and no grace was offered to me for being sick or for her office being closed on Labor Day she only unfairly charged me $30.
