I was spending 5 days in Santa Cruz, and my first goal was to go get a hot-stone massage. Tonic Spa's 90-minute package is the full monty! Absolutely glorious treatment-- Debbie was a miracle worker, on even the most troublesome muscle knots, using 3 different massage styles, so I was a melted puddle even before the hot stones came out. A great way to start a vacation.
I went back to Debbie for mini-facial treatment later on, which involved the same lovely relaxing scent-and-steam atmosphere and some great softening skin products.
Tonic Spa was easy to find from the beachfront area, too; just take the little tourist-trolley downtown, and walk one block east & another block south.

First of it is hard to find parking in this area, make sure you are at least 15 minutes early. The place is really nice but the staff is not friendly. I felt unwelcome. the reason for my visit was to get hair extensions, the lady had already quoted me $800 but tried to charge me $1000.

This place is considered the best of the best localy, if you want high end service you go to Tonic. I have been getting my hair done here for years and I get gift certs for my friends all the time. It can be pricy but it is top of the line and they are so worth it. I use my MySpace discount all the time. The girls are sweet and if you ever have an issue just le them know and they will be glad to work it out with you. I also love that on wends I get a student discount, finally a real break for students. I have gotten masages, waxing and even the new teeth whitening servies. It was so fast and my teeth looked great for my sister wedding. I also love that they always add new servies that keep them on the cutting edge. Try to make your appt for early in the morning to avoid crazy parking.
