Able is the best. I've been going to his shop for over twenty years. He is a little pricey but gives great haircuts that stand up to a shower and re-combing. You get what you pay for. He has a wonderful upbeat personality that makes you feel very comfortable and at home even on your first visit. The shop is clean and cozy with a retro back-to-the-'50's feel that fits in perfectly with old town La Verne. It is a combination barber shop, beauty parlor/nail salon that you may think wouldn't work given the shop's small size, but it does because the staff is so pleasant and know when to cross that invisible boundary between barber and beauty and when to honor it.
